Weigh In and Short Term Goal

I weighed on Tuesday....the scale said 211.4 which was a 2.4 pound weight loss. I will say that made me happy because I really hadn't been eating properly and certainly wasn't exercising. But I am on track now and planning on staying there.

My short term goal right now is this: We are going to MN on October 15th for the weekend. My goal is to be at 199 by the time that morning arrives. It is going to take hard work, but that's okay, I can handle it. I am going to work hard, stay motivated and committed to what I am choosing to put in my body so that goal can be reached.

So enjoying my TAG time every morning. Thank you, Lord, for spending time with me. Looking forward to a good day today.

Why is this so hard?

So I didn't get up and begin exercising like I had planned a week or two ago. Now it is a month before we go to MN and I really want to see some changes going on. I did my grocery shopping over the weekend and have good meals planned for myself. I am praying for God's strength to say no and walk away from the things I know I don't need. I may want them at the moment but I am not going to give in to it.

I got up at 5:00 a.m. today. Worked out with Jillian (Level 1) for 25 minutes. It always feels so good to exercise. Then I filled my spirit with the love of God and had TAG time with Him. I have begun a new devotional book called Solo and I am sure impressed with it so far. It felt so good to start my day with exercise and God. Truly the best way to jump start a Monday.

Tonight is very busy. I have made lasagna for the family to have for dinner. I am trying to go leaner than that though, so I am going to make myself some fish and a salad to have for dinner. I didn't weigh, measure or count my calories today. I take that back. I did measure some things and I will continue to do that for my portions. I'm just not writing it down and counting it right now, but I will. This week is focused on getting back into routine of working out and reading my Bible.

Breakfast: Blueberry smoothie with 1 T flaxseed, scrambled egg in 1 t olive oil (tastes so yummy!).

Lunch: Spinach salad with cheese, croutons, dressing; slice of chicken/artichoke pizza deLight and an apple.

Dinner: is going to be....4 oz tilapia, a salad and possible some rice (or maybe just a slice of bread to get my fiber in) and a glass of milk.

Snack: Whole wheat wrap with peanut butter.

Welcome to my crazy week! Tonight we have Back to School night for Matt, tomorrow night is football for Matt and Wednesday night Steve and Sarah have their Bible studies. We won't actually eat dinner together at the table again until Thursday night! This is only temporary though. Football and Steve's Bible study both end in October and then things will calm down a little. I have to admit, I am loving it! ♥

The Truth in Numbers

The numbers don't lie....and I certainly want them to be different. So here it is, in black and white:

Weight: 213.8
Body fat: 54.5%
Height: 5'0"
Chest: 41.5
Waist: 39.5
Belly: 44.0
Hips: 51.0
Right thigh: 26.5
Right arm: 14.0

Let's see what they say one month from now....change is in the air, just like the fall temperatures!

New Beginnings

This is my weightloss journey/story. I am not happy with the way I look or feel on most days. This is not a journey to get "skinny". It is a journey to get healthy and strong and to live the life God truly has for me. Beginning now, I am going to journal my story and my feelings, eating and exercising for the day. Beginning tomorrow, I am going to work out with Jillian at Level 1 this week. I then go on fall retreat with our youth group, which I am really looking forward to. I have always wanted to run. So the following week I am going to pull up the information on Couch Potato to 5K and really make a go of that. This is how I look right now....the other picture is from playing kick ball with our youth this spring...and why I am going to work really hard to change the image.
